Describe the bug

Inconsistent search experience when using the search bar on the top right corner(in desktop mode)

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Go to search text box on the top right corner(in desktop mode)
Input some text and press enter to observe the search results listed on the screen
Observe the url also reflecting the search keyword and the keyword reflected on the search input box above the results area
Input some other text now on the top right corner(same input area as step 1) and press enter
Observe the url changes in the address bar but the search results doesn't change

Expected behavior

Search should yield results appropriate results based on the keyword entered when using the search bar on the top right corner
Also all the search input fields should reflect the same state(keyword) entered by the user
